Job Summary

ApiTech is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team in a manufacturing environment. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for constructing D-Sub & High-Density Connectors and/or sub-assemblies by performing various standardized techniques and operations using simple hand and mechanical tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares assembly area: Determines materials and machinery by reading work orders, following production drawings and/or receiving verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Verifies parts by comparing provided part with part description in work documentation.
  • Builds assemblies and subassemblies: Aligns components and parts in specified relationships to each other in fixtures and/or other handling devices, using various hand tools and mechanical devices.
  • Maintains record of work progress: Records results of job and/or problems with job in work documentation.
  • Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to Unit Manager.
  • May be required to perform basic test functions by using soldering tools and machines, and operating ultra-sonic welder.
  • Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on tools as required.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND 1-2 years of related assembly experience.
  • Basic reading and comprehension.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Good verbal communication.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, operating and inspection techniques.
  • Knowledge of quality control plans.
