Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled APP to join our Inpatient Cardiology service at Tanner Health System. The ideal candidate will be part of a 5 provider team and report to the Executive Director of Tanner Heart and Vascular Services practice.

The APP will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide services for patients with Cardiac issues in the inpatient setting, under the supervision of the attending physicians. Key responsibilities include rounding on established patients, conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic issues, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and providing education and counseling to patients while maintaining medical records via EPIC EMR.

Position Requirements
Work 4 10 hour shifts per week OR Work 5 days per week (8 hour shifts)
Work 1 weekend per every 5 weeks (current rotation with 4 other APP providers)
Will have 2 compensatory days off during the work week; if working the weekend
No Call responsibilities

Job Eligibility Requirements

Completed Physician Assistant program in good standing or Master of Nursing with specialization in Nurse Practitioner
Currently hold or be able to obtain a Georgia Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License
Currently hold or be able to obtain a Board Certification as Nurse Practitioner
Open to New graduates or candidates with experience in related Cardiac field.
Able to communicate effectively with medical and hospital staff and various populations in clinics and public screening events.
ACLS recommended.
Additional certification will be required for some specialties (i.e. ACLS, PALS)
Graduate of a recognized Physician Assistant program.
Must be capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees and physicians
Must maintain high degree of confidentiality.
Must meet credentialing criteria.
Must possess the cognitive ability to understand patient medical records, physician orders and medical orders to be communicated to patient, hospital and/or other physician.
Must possess the sense or discipline to work in accordance with accepted clinical standards.
Prior experience in a like specialty preferred.
