Job Overview

As a Controls Intern at Marvin, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for testing and troubleshooting hardware, software, systems, and services. Your primary goal will be to deliver high-quality solutions that support production and ensure the success of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Automated Equipment Support: Collaborate with the controls team to test and implement new manufacturing equipment, improvements, or upgrades. Diagnose and resolve electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and programmatical problems of equipment while adhering to company standards.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Objectively analyze and evaluate critical issues to choose the best options for resolution while challenging fixed ideas. Build a logical approach to address problems or opportunities and manage the situation at hand by drawing on knowledge and/or experience.
  • Adaptability and Multitasking: Be able to rapidly switch focus in the event of a call-to-action issue or other high-priority project. Demonstrate openness to new concepts and a willingness to take on non-programming roles on occasion to support the company.
  • Teamwork: Work effectively and diligently as an individual and team member to resolve complex faults on critical systems while being flexible and able to take on different roles when required. This includes supporting the group in the event of colleague absence, elevated workload, and other collaborative ventures as needed.
Requirements
  • Enrolled in an Associates or Bachelors degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Software Development, or Engineering Technology.
  • Ability to use electrical test equipment and hand tools.
  • Proficient ability to read and understand prints and schematics.
  • Knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and Operator Interface programming languages required.
