About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team at FLACRA. As a key member of our counseling staff, you will provide direct services to clients through individual, family, and group counseling sessions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide diagnostic evaluative services to clients, assessing their primary and secondary diagnosis and need for further counseling.
  • Supply identified clients with direct therapeutic services through individual, conjoint, family, and/or group therapy.
  • Carry out the Agency's responsibilities to its clientele, handling intake and service load with independent judgment.
  • Maintain records in compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
  • Participate in community presentations and training programs as needed.
  • Participate in general, staff, in-service, and supervisory meetings held by the Agency or counseling staff.
  • Provide training as needed to new staff and interns.
Requirements
  • Masters level education in the appropriate field with licensure or ability to immediately gain provisional status within 6 months of hire.
  • Valid NYS Drivers License.
  • Licensed as a LMHC, LMSW, or LCSW, LCAT preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with culturally diverse persons, staff, and community service providers.
  • Knowledge of local behavioral health service system.
  • Ability to multi-task, have good problem-solving & time management skills, and the ability to remain calm in a crisis.
