We are currently seeking a qualified Quality Control Technician to join our dedicated team. The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Product Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of products and related documentation to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and specifications. Identify and reject non-conforming products and equipment, promptly informing supervisors of any production issues.
- Monitoring Operations: Oversee production processes and equipment to guarantee adherence to specifications, including the operation of automated inspection machines such as metal detectors.
- Data Recording: Accurately document inspection results, including weights and temperatures, and verify compliance. Calculate percentages or averages and report findings along with recommendations for necessary repairs.
- Quality Standards Maintenance: Uphold food quality and safety standards while enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Compliance Adherence: Follow all Food Safety and Quality standard operating procedures (SOPs) and comply with company policies.
- Sanitation Verification: Ensure all SSOP requirements are met across departments, inspecting Ready-to-Eat (RTE) areas for sanitation effectiveness.
- Child Nutrition Standards: Maintain compliance with all Child Nutrition production requirements.
- Microbiological Analysis: Conduct environmental activities that involve microbiological testing.
- Product Comparison: Assess colors, shapes, and textures of products to ensure they meet established standards, recommending corrective actions based on inspection outcomes.
- Instrument Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and calibrate measuring instruments, thermometers, and probes.
- Weight Verification: Weigh materials, products, and samples to confirm packaging weights or ingredient quantities, and collect samples for testing.
- Documentation Review: Review pre-shipment production documents for accuracy.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all applicable USDA, GMP, SQF, HACCP, and OSHA regulations, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Foster teamwork by engaging plant employees in discussions regarding quality assurance issues, making yourself available on the production floor.
- Additional Responsibilities: Take on other duties as assigned.

Ideal candidates will possess:
- A solid work history
- Experience in manufacturing
- Demonstrated teamwork and safety skills
- Preferred experience in the food industry
- A GED or high school diploma; 3-5 years of QA experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial but not mandatory. HACCP certification and SQF and Food Safety training are preferred, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Satisfactory references
- A willingness to work overtime, including weekends as necessary
