Culinary Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Culinary Specialist to join our team at Perkins Restaurants. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing menu items to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare menu items according to company policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
- Use and maintain all kitchen equipment and preparation areas, adhering to strict health and safety standards.
- Stock and rotate products on the cooking line, ensuring optimal inventory levels and minimizing waste.
- Have a thorough knowledge of cooking stations, menu items, and prep procedures to ensure correct portioning, quality, and cooking time.
- Cook and prepare menu items according to guest requests, following company standards and food safety procedures.
- Monitor and oversee food temperatures during hot and cold handling to prevent foodborne illness.
- Anticipate and correct system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
- Communicate with the Manager on Duty and coworkers regarding product/service deficiencies, equipment issues, and safety concerns.
- Basic skills in sanitation, safety, and customer service, taught through in-house training.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- High level of mobility and flexibility.
- Ability to work irregular hours under heavy stress and pressure during peak times.
- High level of coordination.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds for distances up to 30 feet.
- Ability to fit through an opening 30 inches wide.
- Frequent reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold, and odors.
- Continual standing and walking.
