Fleet Operations Supervisor

Qualifications and Expertise:
Minimum of two (2) years of documented experience in a supervisory role overseeing Fleet Operations. Responsible for managing a significant team engaged in Utility and Fuel services; AND possess a valid driver's license. Capable of effectively analyzing operational challenges and formulating actionable solutions. Supervise and mentor staff; adeptly coordinate intricate schedules and assignments. Proficient in reading and writing in English, with the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
Basic mathematical skills are essential for tasks related to chemical mixing, calculating square footage for cleaning, and labor-related computations.
Demonstrated reliability with an excellent attendance record and sound judgment is required.Proficiency in computer usage is necessary. Experience in fleet management and fueling operations is preferred. Supervisory experience is a must. Skills include:
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of relevant software
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on problem-solving
- Dependability and efficiency in teamwork
- Positive attitude and effective communication
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods, kneel, push, and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure operational efficiency at the yard and fuel station by assisting and delegating tasks to Fleet Care Workers, fuelers, and probers. Maintain cleanliness and presentation of vehicle interiors and exteriors (including floors, ceilings, handrails, windows, driver areas, and wheels).
Keep vehicle interior records updated. Liaise with the parts department for supply orders. Communicate with maintenance and operations regarding special event vehicles. Coordinate with dispatch to track all vehicles in service for the day. Work with maintenance to identify out-of-service vehicles and those returning from the shop. Collaborate with other supervisors and lead technicians.
Ensure cleanliness of the work area and utility cart storage at the end of each shift. Maintain adequate supplies for all utility and fueling personnel. Ensure all fire lanes and emergency areas are properly marked at the end of the shift. Report any issues that arise in the yard to the Assistant Maintenance Manager and/or Maintenance Manager. Report all accidents or safety concerns to the Maintenance Manager. Address any issues with the fuel station, wash bay, and vehicle parking area. Contact clean energy representatives when issues occur at the fuel station. Ensure compliance with all company policies and safety protocols.
Monitor and maintain productivity levels of utility, fueling, and probing staff. Record and submit daily cleaning, fueling logs, and probing sheets to the maintenance manager at the end of each shift. Availability for night shifts and weekends is required. Report any emergencies and their severity to management as necessary. Conduct regular quality control inspections on vehicle cleanliness. Hold daily meetings with utility and fueling staff. Ensure employees take breaks and lunches at appropriate times. Perform additional duties as assigned.
