Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Dining Services to join our team at Elderwood at Williamsville. As a key member of our dining services department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, dish room, food storage areas, and dining rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the daily operations of the dining service department, ensuring compliance with state regulations, current best practices, policies, and procedures for food preparation and meal service.
  2. Work closely with the Director of Nutritional Services to develop menus and recipes that meet the dietary needs of our residents.
  3. Maintain accurate inventory of food and non-food items, adhering to budgetary constraints.
  4. Conduct regular audits and monitor performance improvement initiatives related to food service.
  5. Lead and participate in resident care plan meetings, staff meetings, and in-service programs.
  6. Perform job functions of each department position as needed.
  7. Interact and communicate with residents and family members regarding meal service.
  8. Maintain a working knowledge of federal regulations and state rules and regulations regarding meal service in the post-acute care setting.
  9. Ensure proper preparation, maintenance, and service of food in accordance with state rules and regulations.
  10. Act as a preceptor for dietetic and/or food service students and interns.
  11. Conduct in-service programs for dietary and facility staff upon request.
  12. Evaluate the performance of all dining services staff members.
  13. Utilize electronic timekeeping systems as directed.
  14. Adhere to the dress code and wear a name tag at all times.
  15. Follow policy and procedure regarding electronic devices, computers, and tablets.
  16. Support and abide by Elderwood's Mission, Vision, and Values.
  17. Abide by Elderwood's business code of conduct, compliance, and HIPAA policies.
Requirements

We are seeking an individual with exceptional attention to detail, who displays high levels of cleanliness and safety, and leads by example with effective leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work autonomously as well as in teams, possess exceptional customer service skills, and be helpful and supportive to staff and residents.
