Job Purpose

Foremen supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures. They must work within a precise standard of accuracy with safety as a top priority.

Rating information using standards which can be measured or checked and understanding flat drawings or pictures are necessary in this field along with following oral and written directions, plans, and blueprints.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
  2. Interfacing with Project Managers, Site Supervisor, Client, other contractors, etc.
  3. Determine sequence of activities, i.e. fabrication, assembly, and erection.
  4. Plan work ahead to assure that resources are available for next day/week's work.
  5. Prioritize, schedule, and communicate plans and tasks.
  6. Make proper selections of materials to conform to project requirements and building codes.
  7. Assign workers to tasks, explain the work, and supervise the execution.
  8. Monitor work performance and productivity of crew.
  9. Ensure customer specifications, procedures, safety requirements are maintained.
  10. Inspect work performed by staff and subcontractors to ensure conformance with specifications.
  11. Train new workers in the use of equipment and tools and in safety.
  12. Maintain accurate time and material records and complete client paperwork as required.
  13. Maintain accurate time sheets and daily reports.
  14. Advise superintendents and/or project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, etc.; assist in circumventing/resolving such problems as required.
  15. Follow company policy and procedure and enforce safety regulations.
  16. Exercise proper care, maintenance, and operation of company equipment.
  17. Perform trade and miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as required.
  18. Supervise and coordinate work of the Equipment Operators, Truck Drivers, and Laborers on site.
Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent and additional specialized training equal to a master craft designation.

Minimum 3 years' experience in Natural Gas construction trades.

Valid Driver's License.
