Position Overview

The Environmental Services Worker II is responsible for maintaining cleanliness across various locations within the facility. The role encompasses a range of duties aimed at ensuring a hygienic and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute Environmental Services tasks efficiently, adhering to the established 7 Step Cleaning Process.

  • Conduct sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming of hallways, staircases, and office areas.
  • Clean light fixtures, ceilings, vents, walls, furniture, and windows thoroughly.
  • Manage waste disposal, ensuring proper handling and transportation of waste materials.
  • Restock supplies and materials as needed.
  • Assist in moving furniture and setting up meeting spaces.
  • Report maintenance needs to supervisors promptly.
  • Adhere to all safety and risk management protocols.
  • Document and report any incidents or injuries in a timely manner.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Follow all relevant OSHA and local safety regulations in daily tasks.
  • Complete mandatory training programs as required by the organization.
  • Handle and package regulated medical waste and chemotherapy waste as necessary.
  • Change cubicle and shower curtains when required.
Additional Duties
  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed.
  • Comply with all organizational policies and standards.
  • Refer to departmental documentation for specific duties during orientation.
  • Ensure the secure handling of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with training and organizational policies.
Qualifications:
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of cleaning experience (Required)
  • Experience in a healthcare environment (Preferred)
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a solid work ethic and ability to work independently (Required proficiency).
  • Ability to comprehend written instructions and protocols (Required proficiency).
  • Proficient in using electronic and communication devices (Required proficiency).
  • Capability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours) (Required proficiency).
  • Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly (Required proficiency).
  • Primarily indoor work, with occasional outdoor activities (Required proficiency).
  • Wear protective gear as required due to exposure to cleaning chemicals (Required proficiency).
  • Familiarity with ladder usage (Required proficiency).
Physical Requirements
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Rarely sitting.
