Key Responsibilities
- Execute Environmental Services tasks efficiently, adhering to the established 7 Step Cleaning Process.
- Maintain high-quality standards in all cleaning activities to provide a safe and pleasant atmosphere.
- Organize and keep cleaning carts, equipment storage, and waste disposal areas tidy and compliant with safety regulations.
- Engage positively with patients, families, visitors, and colleagues, providing assistance as necessary.
- Utilize cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Perform cleaning duties in various areas including offices, patient rooms, common spaces, restrooms, and food service areas.
- Conduct sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming of hallways, staircases, and office areas.
- Clean light fixtures, ceilings, vents, walls, furniture, and windows thoroughly.
- Manage waste disposal, ensuring proper handling and transportation of waste materials.
- Restock supplies and materials as needed.
- Assist in moving furniture and setting up meeting spaces.
- Report maintenance needs to supervisors promptly.
- Adhere to all safety and risk management protocols.
- Document and report any incidents or injuries in a timely manner.
- Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.
- Follow all relevant OSHA and local safety regulations in daily tasks.
- Complete mandatory training programs as required by the organization.
- Handle and package regulated medical waste and chemotherapy waste as necessary.
- Change cubicle and shower curtains when required.
- Perform other assigned tasks as needed.
- Comply with all organizational policies and standards.
- Refer to departmental documentation for specific duties during orientation.
- Ensure the secure handling of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with training and organizational policies.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year of cleaning experience (Required)
- Experience in a healthcare environment (Preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a solid work ethic and ability to work independently (Required proficiency).
- Ability to comprehend written instructions and protocols (Required proficiency).
- Proficient in using electronic and communication devices (Required proficiency).
- Capability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours) (Required proficiency).
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly (Required proficiency).
- Primarily indoor work, with occasional outdoor activities (Required proficiency).
- Wear protective gear as required due to exposure to cleaning chemicals (Required proficiency).
- Familiarity with ladder usage (Required proficiency).
- Constant standing and walking.
- Rarely sitting.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of weights up to 50 lbs.
- Constant climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling.
- Regular talking and hearing.
- Frequent repetitive motions and coordination tasks.
- 10% travel may be required.
