Job Purpose:

Our DevOps Engineers leverage software engineering practices to develop, manage, and maintain the software and infrastructure essential for distributed, fault-tolerant systems. The DevOps Engineer ensures that system reliability and uptime meet the needs of its users while optimizing capacity, performance, and cost efficiency. This is often achieved through the automation of repetitive operational tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the full lifecycle of system development, from concept to ongoing production maintenance.
  • Help define and implement automated monitoring, deployment, and repair strategies using various Ops tools and monitoring platforms.
  • Build and maintain deployment, monitoring, and operations tools, troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Support Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes and mentor teams to enhance their workflows.
  • Design fault-tolerant and scalable systems.
  • Develop software and systems to manage infrastructure and applications.
  • Ensure software meets reliability, quality, and time-to-market targets.
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering expertise for both test and production environments.
  • Take part in post-mortem analyses to identify areas for improvement.
  • Drive system sustainability by automating processes.
  • Collaborate with development and release teams to improve service reliability through thorough testing.
  • Balance the frequency of feature releases with service-level objectives.
  • Research and stay updated on emerging technologies, tools, platforms, and frameworks.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in systems administration, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or development.
  • Proficient with container orchestration tools like OpenShift and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with environments utilizing CI/CD processes.
  • Proficient in programming/scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, Java, C#, Ruby, etc.
  • Experienced in analyzing and troubleshooting scalable distributed systems.
  • Knowledgeable in source code control tools like Git (GitLab, GitHub, BitBucket).
  • Expertise in Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux/RHEL) and/or Windows operating systems.
  • Ability to automate routine tasks and debug/optimize code.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with cloud computing, storage, and hosting services.
  • Experience in managing configuration states of products and environments using tools like Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
  • Knowledge of SSL/TLS/PKI infrastructure and processes to support application development.
  • Experience managing a large number of systems through configuration management systems.
