About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Material Handler to join our team at Univar Solutions. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient movement of materials and products within our warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate industrial powered lift trucks or forklifts to move materials and products within the warehouse.
  • Load and unload company trucks, common carriers, and customer vehicles using forklifts and other required equipment.
  • Ship and receive products according to company procedures and requirements.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the warehouse facility, including cleaning and organizing the workspace.
  • Participate in the company's in-plant or off-site emergency response team.
  • Manage hazardous materials or waste, including placing them into appropriate containers and completing inspections and paperwork.
  • Prepare for shipment and load hazardous waste destined for off-site recycling/disposal facilities.
  • Packaging and blending of multiple products.

Requirements:

  • Ability to operate industrial powered lift trucks or forklifts according to company procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to use and maintain respiratory protection equipment.
  • Ability to learn proper methods for handling hazardous materials and wastes, with training.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry at least 100 lb. net bags for short distances.
  • Ability to read, write, count, understand, and speak English.
  • Physical ability to tilt back or break 800 lb. net drums onto a dolly as well as stand and walk for long periods of time.
