Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Cardiology Technologist to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of technical and professional duties utilizing complex imaging equipment to produce high-quality images for subsequent interpretation by nuclear cardiologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality dynamic, static, and gated SPECT and PET imaging procedures utilizing appropriate age-specific standards to obtain the desired diagnostic patient information for referring physicians.
  • Operate a variety of SPECT and PET/CT cameras and computers in accordance with prescribed departmental procedures to produce images of high diagnostic quality.
  • Perform various radiopharmacy duties, including receipt, preparation, administration, and storage of radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals to ensure safety and integrity of the agents used.
  • Obtain radionuclides by eluting generator systems or from bulk shipments, maintaining sterile technique and shielding.
  • Perform quality control procedures to ensure optimal performance of gamma cameras, computers, and other related auxiliary equipment.
  • Practice safe handling of radioactive materials according to departmental and federal regulations to ensure minimal radiation exposure to self and others.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an A.M.A. approved program in Nuclear Medicine.
  • AS degree required, BS degree preferred.
  • NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology required.
  • CPR Certification required.
