This role is designated for the night shift (Graveyard, 3rd Shift).
OBJECTIVE:
To prepare and organize filled product containers onto pallets in accordance with customer specifications for storage and shipment. This position also involves assisting the Low Moisture Packaging Operator while possessing comprehensive knowledge of equipment operations.
ROLE SUMMARY:
Support the Low Moisture Packaging Operator in daily tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
All tasks must be performed in compliance with Tree Top operational policies, safety regulations, procedures, and good manufacturing practices.
Regular and reliable attendance is a critical aspect of this role. It is the duty of every employee at Tree Top Inc.to report any food safety and quality concerns to personnel authorized to take corrective action.
The organizational chart identifies key personnel with the authority to act. This is a representative sample and does not imply a complete list of all responsibilities and tasks.Ensure Customer Specifications are Met:
Verify that machinery and equipment are functioning correctly and prepared for production. Confirm that equipment settings align with product specifications and startup requirements. Regularly check and calibrate scales as needed. Inspect boxes, liners, plastic bags, and labels for accuracy. Ensure labels contain the necessary item numbers, day codes, etc.
Effective Communication:
Share information with the Low Moisture Packaging Operator, Supervisors, Quality Technicians, and colleagues. Assist Maintenance and Supervisors in identifying the source of foreign materials. Notify Mechanics of any issues that arise.
Prepare Containers for Palletizing:
Compress products when necessary and label containers appropriately. Seal liners as required. Tape boxes as needed and affix labels per unit. Ensure proper labeling on all boxes. Assist in the ongoing operations of the Low Moisture Packaging and Puff Areas. Adjust flake roll thickness, calcium stearate, and nitrogen levels. Maintain proper belt tracking and cleanliness of belts. Ensure oilers and machinery are functioning correctly. Regularly check scales and sealers for proper operation. Change Sweco screens as necessary. Ensure the Bag House system operates effectively. Monitor and operate the case erector, bag inserter, and Powell auto-filler.
Operate and oversee the K&R box former, bag inserter, and case detector, ensuring that rejects are handled appropriately.
Ensure that adequate supplies are available in the packaging area and that the puff tunnel is charged and maintained at the correct PPM. Verify Critical Control Points (CCPs) and communicate findings to the lab, mechanics, operators, and supervisors. Ensure waste is disposed of properly. Assist the Operator in monitoring and controlling product quality attributes toMeet Customer Specifications:
Inspect production lines to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP). Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times. Incorporate rework products as directed by the supervisor.
Team Collaboration:
Support colleagues whenever possible and demonstrate teamwork. Adhere to industrial and food safety standards. Follow proper Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and all Haz-Com and Chemical Safety protocols. Comply with all Good Manufacturing Practice procedures and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point standards. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Identify and report any unsafe conditions or actions to the supervisor during the shift. Follow all other applicable safety regulations and guidelines.
