Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking a skilled Culinary Aide / Wait Staff to join our team in a vibrant, not-for-profit retirement community.

The successful candidate will assist in the preparation and serving of quality food to residents, guests, and employees under sanitary conditions.

This role offers flexible scheduling, including:

Full-Time 11:30am to 8:00pm

Part-Time 3:00pm to 8:00pm

Full-Time 7:00am to 3:00pm

Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, Partners, and guests at all times.
  • Maintain good attendance and take ownership of nursing neighborhoods while working in them.
  • Collaborate with the nursing department to serve residents effectively.
  • Prepare and set-up all menu items according to standards.
  • Serve hot and cold food items, condiments, utensils, etc. onto trays on a moving tray line according to tray tickets and menu spread sheets.
  • Restock cafeteria and other areas with food and supplies in a courteous, timely manner.
  • Serve meals to residents in a courteous, timely manner.
  • Scrape dirty trays and dishes, and load and unload the dish machine.
  • Hand wash pots and pans, and other designated items.
  • Ensure the kitchen facilities are maintained in a sanitary manner, including floors, walls, all equipment, and utensils.
  • Safely handle a variety of chemicals and educate employees about the same.
  • Assist in the kitchen as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Communicate and cooperate with dietary personnel and other departments.
  • Maintain resident rights and confidentiality.
  • Interact positively with residents, family members, personnel, and visitors under various conditions and circumstances.
  • Follow Universal precautions and Infection Control techniques.
Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or GED preferred

Experience: 0-2 years in food service within a Long Term Care environment preferred
