WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Senior Business Control Manager will be responsible for the strategic oversight, development, and enhancement of the capital markets risk management framework across four distinct operational areas at City National Bank. This position necessitates close collaboration with diverse teams to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal protocols. Key responsibilities include monitoring risk-related findings, executing assessments, and partnering with senior leadership to facilitate corrective measures. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in financial services along with project management expertise, complemented by exceptional problem-solving and communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion a comprehensive first line risk management program
- Oversee and refine controls and processes to ensure compliance
- Assess current processes and propose enhancements
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and prioritize risk exposure areas
- Assist in resolving issues and implementing suggested improvements
- Analyze findings, perform root cause investigations, and develop corrective action strategies
- Maintain expertise in subject matter and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Identify, quantify, and escalate risk concerns as needed
- Guarantee compliance with all organizational policies and procedures
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 8 years in project management roles
- A minimum of 8 years in the financial services sector
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
- MBA, JD, or other advanced degrees are preferred
- 8-10 years of experience in project management and problem resolution
- Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint applications
- Exceptional time management and organizational capabilities
- Diverse experience in problem-solving
Compensation
The starting base salary for this position ranges from $127,626 to $237,014 annually. Actual compensation will vary based on skills, experience, and location. This role is also eligible for bonuses and/or commissions.
