Position Overview: We are seeking an Accounting Manager who is enthusiastic about crafting engaging financial solutions. This role involves overseeing the accounting team and ensuring precise and timely financial reporting and operations within the accounting department. Key responsibilities include managing the month-end close process, facilitating the annual audit, and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all operational aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end financial closes, including the preparation of financial statements and cash reconciliations.
  • Utilize automated systems such as ERP/financial systems, travel and expense reporting systems, and time tracking systems.
  • Manage the annual audit process and coordinate with state auditors as necessary.
  • Align accounting functions and policies with remote locations and corporate offices.
  • Supervise fixed asset accounting and records.
  • Oversee tax reporting and compliance, including federal and state filings for multiple entities.
  • Maintain the general ledger and perform account reconciliations.
  • Continuously evaluate accounting processes to enhance efficiency and collaboration with other departments.
  • Perform additional accounting duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or accounting; CPA certification is a plus.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a corporate accounting environment, with familiarity in mid-range automated financial systems.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll, cash management, taxes, and labor/expense capitalization.
  • Experience with annual accounting audits.
  • Experience in a multi-entity accounting environment is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Access.
  • Experience in a software development context is beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on prioritization and follow-through.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
