Job Summary

The Cancer Registry Coordinator plays a critical role in the Cancer Institute, coordinating and monitoring all Cancer Registry functions, including case-finding, case abstracting, follow-up, data entry, state and national data reporting, quality control, and cancer conferences. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and monitor all Cancer Registry functions, including case-finding, case abstracting, follow-up, data entry, state and national data reporting, quality control, and cancer conferences.
  • Supervise registry personnel to ensure accuracy and adherence to production deadlines.
  • Participate in an environment that ensures quality work, group morale, and effective communication.
  • Coordinate activities related to Cancer Conference, including publishing meeting calendars, agendas, and conference room preparation.
  • Perform monthly case finding to ensure all reportable cases are identified.
  • Conduct monthly follow-up and update all current follow-up information on all eligible analytic cases in the Cancer Registry database.
  • Coordinate activities related to AHW Cancer Committee, including establishing meeting calendars, agendas, and meeting minutes distribution.
  • Provide NCDB statistical data to the Cancer Liaison Physician for reporting to the Cancer Committee.
  • Coordinate with the Cancer Registry Quality Coordinator in the implementation of the Cancer Registry Quality Control Plan.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Improvement Coordinator to measure, monitor, and report results of the annual quality improvement goals defined by the Cancer Committee.
Requirements
  • Associate degree and three (3) years' experience in hospital or centralized cancer registry.
  • National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) certification.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
