Job Summary: The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing daily operations of the Production Department to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Performance Improvement: Optimize customer service through teamwork and effective communication, ensuring seamless production processes and meeting department OEE goals.
  • Team Leadership: Perform team management duties, including coaching, training, disciplinary actions, safety practices, scheduling, and motivating team members to achieve excellent results.
  • Production Oversight: Supervise and maintain high levels of housekeeping, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Meet daily with off-going and oncoming supervisors to prioritize tasks, align expectations, and ensure smooth transitions.
  • Labor Management: Plan and coordinate labor distribution, adjusting work assignments and schedules to respond to fluctuating production needs while maintaining optimal labor efficiencies.
  • Safety and Compliance: Supervise, evaluate, promote, and enforce compliance with company safety policies, rules, and procedures, ensuring employee well-being and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Employee Development: Provide employees with necessary training tools, equipment, and information to meet production expectations and achieve their full potential.
  • Payroll and Scheduling: Manage payroll, break schedules, and vacations for the shift, ensuring accurate record-keeping and adherence to company policies.
  • Visual Workplace: Implement Lean Six Sigma principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises employees in the Production Department, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements: A leader who can motivate, train, drive accountability, and adapt to change, with experience in station layout designs and single-piece flow. Understanding our metrics of OEE, Scrap, Safety, and Quality is essential. Plastic injection molding experience is an asset. We require a High School diploma or general education degree and a minimum of 5 years of supervisor experience, capable of supervising over 140 people in multiple departments.

Competencies: Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills are required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Proficient in database software, spreadsheet, and word processing Microsoft Office software, Mattec, and Oracle.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Overtime and weekends (Saturday/Sunday) may be required.

Compensation: We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, based on qualifications and experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
