Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Screed Operator to join our team at Preferred Materials - Asphalt Division in Fort Myers, FL. As a key member of our paving crew, you will be responsible for operating the asphalt paving machine to ensure high-quality results and efficient project completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the asphalt paving machine safely and efficiently, controlling material flow and depth distribution.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of asphalt paving industry principles, including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, and aggregate size.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal working condition.
  • Collaborate with the paving crew to achieve project goals and deadlines.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 1-2 years of experience in asphalt and road construction preferred.
  • Strong understanding of asphalt paving principles and industry standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
