Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Nursing Unit Supervisor to join our team at the Short Stay Surgical department. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and managing administrative, financial, and operational duties in collaboration with the Administrative Nursing Supervisor, Nurse Manager, and Assistant Vice President of Specialty Nursing Division.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor professional caregivers in the delivery of patient care and facilitate patient access, communication, and transitions throughout the acute care stay.
- Provide leadership for direct patient care provided by specialty nursing unit staff on the assigned primary shift of work.
- Assure that competent, compassionate patient care is uniformly provided to customers including referring facilities, hospital staff, and patients in the inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.
- Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, programs, and services consistent with the hospital's mission and departmental/unit vision and philosophy.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing management, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A bachelor's degree in nursing and current licensure as a registered nurse in New York State are required.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per year
