Position Overview

This role involves being part of a dedicated team responsible for executing both tactical and strategic procurement activities. The focus is on ensuring timely delivery and overall readiness of parts to support manufacturing, engine assembly, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations. Responsibilities include managing costs, sourcing, and supplier relations within the Purchasing Department. The role entails initiating and assessing requests for quotations (RFQs) and proposals (RFPs) to meet business requirements, placing purchase orders based on cost, quality, and delivery standards, and coordinating with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with suppliers to ensure timely delivery for manufacturing, engine assembly, MRO, and facility requirements. Utilize problem-solving skills to address hardware issues and expedite processes to meet delivery timelines.
  • Conduct supplier RFQs and negotiations, awarding contracts based on optimal quality, cost, and delivery conditions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and suppliers to drive process improvements that support timely delivery. Work with internal and external partners to facilitate process modifications and project-related initiatives.
  • Assist team members in understanding and adhering to established processes.

Qualifications and Skills

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, manufacturing engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in procurement or supply chain management.

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or logistics is essential.
  • Strong project management capabilities and effective problem-solving skills are required.
  • Proficiency in managing supplier relationships and fostering teamwork to achieve consensus.

Additional Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills are necessary.
  • A technical understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering specifications, preferably in the aerospace sector.

Work Environment

  • Office setting with climate control.
  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing areas, requiring personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
  • Minimal travel requirements.
