Job Overview:

The Sales and Service Manager will play a pivotal role in crafting and executing strategic sales initiatives, collaborating with external partners to formulate actionable plans aimed at achieving financial objectives. This position is also tasked with overseeing the operational aspects of seasonal cruise ship dock activities.

Reporting To: Vice President of Operations

Key Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide guidance and oversight to seasonal management teams, including recruitment, mentoring, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Set sales targets by forecasting and developing an annual sales budget that aligns with anticipated sales volume and revenue expectations, ensuring compatibility with available tour allocations.
  • Build and sustain robust relationships with sales partners.
  • Negotiate sales agreements with third-party sales brokers.
  • Maintain strong connections with cruise line shore excursion teams.
  • Drive innovation to stay competitive in the retail and cruise experience sectors.
  • Implement retail strategies by equipping customer service personnel with upselling techniques.
  • Fulfill sales operational requirements by monitoring team performance outcomes.
  • Support retail sales through the enhancement and execution of a comprehensive retail training program.
  • Enhance professional and technical expertise by reviewing industry publications, building personal networks, and engaging in professional organizations.
  • Contribute to team success by achieving related objectives as necessary.
  • Advocate for the company’s Safety Management System across all organizational levels.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated sales proficiency, consistently meeting or surpassing targets.
  • Effective communication, presentation, and influence skills with sales partners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Adept at identifying solutions and executing standardized processes.
  • Ability to recognize unique consumer needs.
  • Skilled in budget formulation and reporting procedures.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experienced in team development and collaboration.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. Relevant experience in cruise industry markets may be considered in lieu of a degree.
