Clinical Laboratory Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Assistant to join our team. As a Clinical Laboratory Assistant, you will be responsible for performing venipuncture and capillary specimen collection on patients, accurately identifying and labeling all specimens, and processing all specimens in accordance with laboratory protocol.
Key Responsibilities- Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture blood sample collections on patients of all age groups
- Accurately identify and label all specimens following established laboratory protocol
- Process all specimens in accordance with laboratory protocol, including proper handling, centrifugation, storage, packaging, and transport
- Collect all insurance/financial information necessary for proper billing
- Enter orders and patient demographic information in the laboratory information system
- Answer and navigate calls with accuracy, efficiency, and courtesy using best customer service tactics and practices
- High School graduate or equivalent or applicable coursework to be applied to obtain required WA State Medical Assistant Phlebotomy (MA-P) - Certification
- Certification from an approved phlebotomy-training program with successful completion of a required internship preferred, or relevant work experience
- Medical terminology
- State of Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist (MA-P) or equivalent
- Have and maintain current Healthcare Provider CPR certification
- 3 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory customer service or specimen processing role
- Previous training and competence in dealing with the unique needs in the range of customer service situations with clinicians and their office staff
- Working knowledge of the various government regulations specifically Medicare and the Washington state medical Test Site regulations
