Heavy Machinery Fuel and Lubrication Technician

Position Overview:

In this apprentice role, you will receive guidance and training from the Heavy Equipment Fuel Lube Service Technician, assisting in the servicing and upkeep of heavy construction machinery in both field and workshop settings.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Work evening shifts and/or flexible hours to assist with equipment maintenance.
  • Travel to various job sites alongside the Heavy Equipment Fuel Lube Service Technician to conduct necessary repairs.
  • Perform fueling and preventive maintenance on a variety of heavy construction machinery.
  • Execute tasks efficiently and professionally while maintaining open communication with both shop and field teams.
  • Engage in both fieldwork and shop duties.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures set forth by Hunter Contracting Co.
  • Carry out additional related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Understanding of machinery maintenance protocols.
  • Ability to collect uncontaminated oil samples.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting service manuals.
  • Proficient in operating equipment to assess proper functionality.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to follow directions.
  • Comfortable working in dusty or dirty environments while practicing safety protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
  • Ability to follow instructions and make decisions based on established standards.
  • Demonstrates attentive listening skills and a quick learning ability.
  • Approaches tasks with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Prioritizes work effectively to meet deadlines.

Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Must maintain a clean driving record; AND
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements; AND
  • At least 6 months of experience in a related field; OR
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
