About the Role

Penske Logistics is seeking a seasoned leader to oversee logistics operations, including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch, and documentation control. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive process improvement and lead change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and sustain high-performing teams, ensuring all supervisors and associates are trained and competent.
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance standards, providing coaching and counseling to associates.
  • Supervise logistics operations, including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch, and documentation control.
  • Conduct team meetings, evaluate and recommend changes in work methods to increase productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, including tracking MPG, returns, and damages.
  • Understand the relationship between decision-making and profitability, closely managing associates' working hours and activities to minimize overtime.
  • Ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are aligned with the location safety strategy.
  • Determine areas for Continuous Improvement efforts and work with vendors to ensure equipment maintenance.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with associates, company leadership, and internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently, with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to actively listen and drive process improvement.
  • Ability to manage through problems, think critically, and make decisions independently.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
