Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Management Specialist to join our team at American Honda Motor Co Inc. As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will play a critical role in leading our internal supply chain through analysis, problem-solving, execution, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accuracy of systems required to support production, including operation standards, parts, GCCS, and GPCS, and validate department readiness to assure manufacturing achievement.
  • Review and maintain daily reports, then conduct on-site visits to understand situations, direct actions for resolution of issues, and/or identify improvement opportunities.
  • Manage and execute project-related activities through Specified Action Plans (SAP) to ensure project strategy and activity are completed in a comprehensive and timely manner for project success.
  • Lead and/or participate in department initiatives such as business planning, FSI (loss elimination), and Monozukuri to gain or share knowledge, promote continuous improvement, and foster engagement.
  • Develop and maintain professional communication networks with other facilities to share best practices, reduce duplicate workload, and collaboration activity.
  • Consistently identify opportunities for continuous improvement, develop and execute activities/tasks to achieve strategic objectives, collect data, and apply business knowledge to solve a range of problems.
Requirements
  • Business-related degree or other relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory management role/manufacturing experience.
  • Critical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks/projects in order of importance.
  • Willingness to take initiative.
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Project management capability.
  • Good understanding of parts flow, logistics, and delivery systems from a production aspect.
