The Opportunity:

We're seeking an experienced data scientist with machine learning expertise to drive data-driven decision making and develop cutting-edge features. This mission-critical role will contribute to our next-gen EdTech and media products, supporting data initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data science research and build ML models to support various applications.
  • Participate in software implementation, monitoring, and upkeep of user-facing and internal data products.
  • Perform data analyses to inform strategic decisions.
  • Maintain expertise in ML/AI literature and practices, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop ETL pipelines (dbt), dashboards (Tableau), and A/B testing frameworks.
  • Mentor data scientists and analysts.
  • Identify opportunities to apply data science and analytics to support use cases across HBP.

Requirements:

  • 6-8+ years of data science/ML research experience working with large, real-world datasets.
  • Strong understanding of statistical and machine learning algorithms.
  • Expert programming skills in Python, SQL, and graph databases.
  • Experience deploying ML models to production environments.
  • Practicality, bias for action, and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to draw robust conclusions from data.
  • Effective communication and team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), search, personalization, and/or adaptive learning.

A competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $200,000 - $250,000 per annum, plus opportunities for Performance-Based Variable Pay.
