The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing transportation requests from both internal and external stakeholders. This position is responsible for efficiently relaying information to drivers across various regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to incoming transportation requests and dispatch assignments to drivers, considering factors such as arrival times, departure schedules, locations, and customer requirements to optimize cost-effectiveness and response time.
  • Address and resolve any issues raised by customers promptly.

Additional Duties:

  • Be available for on-call dispatching services as needed.
  • Engage courteously with both internal teams and external clients.

Management of Transport Operations:

  • Oversee and coordinate transport scheduling tasks.
  • Prepare reports for management as required.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Completion of college courses is preferred, particularly in business management.
  • A minimum of two to four years of experience in a dispatching role is essential.
  • Prior experience in passenger transport operations is necessary; experience in marine agency operations is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines are required.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience with data entry is a plus.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with all organizational levels.
  • A strong customer service orientation and proven problem-solving abilities are required.
  • Experience in effectively managing personnel is necessary.
  • Ability to type and communicate simultaneously, demonstrating strong phone and email communication skills.
  • Willingness to work on-call as needed, including weekends.
