The Coordinator of Academic Services plays a crucial role in supporting the evaluation and articulation of transfer credits. This position is essential for ensuring a smooth enrollment experience for both domestic and international students transitioning to the University of Utah.
Key Responsibilities
1. Facilitate the transfer credit evaluation processes and workflows to streamline the enrollment journey for prospective students.
2. Maintain and update transfer course data within relevant data systems.
3. Collaborate with various campus stakeholders to manage transfer credit articulations effectively.
4. Serve as a resource for university faculty, staff, and students regarding transfer credit inquiries.
5. Develop and maintain documentation and online content to inform campus partners about the university's transfer processes.
6. Proactively seek and recommend best practices in transfer student services and credit evaluation.
Collective Duties
1. Manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
2. Monitor workflows and provide insights to ensure timely completion of tasks.
3. Utilize advanced data systems to generate reports and support departmental functions collaboratively.
4. Adhere to federal regulations, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
5. Maintain open communication with other managers and team leads to address service challenges and improve processes.
6. Explore new technologies and methodologies for enhancing service delivery.
7. Provide backup support for office services as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field along with one year of directly related experience is required. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently, analyze program content, and make informed decisions. Strong organizational and coordination skills are essential for managing competing deadlines, along with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferences
Familiarity with Registrar functions, including veteran services, NCAA athletic certification, degree audits, and transfer articulation is preferred. Excellent analytical and organizational skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, are highly valued. A solid understanding of current laws and regulations related to academic record-keeping is also required.
Preferred Software Proficiency
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Transfer Evaluation System by CollegeSource, Transferology Lab by CollegeSource, and Salesforce is advantageous.
