Role Summary

Are you passionate about animal welfare and team leadership? As the Animal Care Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of the animal care team, ensuring the well-being of animals in our facility while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of the animal care staff to ensure efficient and high-quality care for all animals.
  • Maintain a compassionate and respectful atmosphere for both animals and staff, aligning with the organization's mission and values.
  • Ensure adherence to dietary guidelines, sanitation protocols, and overall animal health standards.
  • Handle payroll, scheduling, recruitment, and personnel matters for the animal care team.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and conduct performance evaluations to promote staff development.
  • Regularly assess and update departmental policies and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure best practices in animal care and euthanasia protocols.
  • Engage with volunteers and other departments to promote a cohesive working environment.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An associate degree (bachelor's preferred) and relevant experience in animal welfare or veterinary services.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team.
  • Experience in supervisory roles and a commitment to animal care excellence.
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Work Environment

This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions. The supervisor will frequently engage in hands-on animal care and facility maintenance tasks.
