Job Summary

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant I to join our team. As a Dental Assistant I, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist dental providers in delivering dental care, including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery procedures.
  • Anticipate and provide necessary chair-side assistance using four-handed dentistry technique.
  • Identify and categorize patient needs, including infant, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
  • Escort patients to and from treatment rooms, greet, seat, and depart patients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Provide patient education and instructions before, during, and after dental procedures.
  • Communicate provider delays and delays in patient flow to the lead dental assistant, dental provider, patients, and front desk staff.
  • Participate in scheduling appointments, arriving, and departing patients in Dentrix and registering patients in Allscripts PM.
  • Complete thorough and accurate charting in Dentrix using S.O.A.P. or P.A.R.T.S. format.
  • Obtain accurate blood pressure readings and other vital signs as directed by dental provider.
  • Maintain proper sterilization methods and OSHA regulations in all clinic areas.
Requirements
  • Valid WA state license.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Dental record experience.
  • Familiarity with computer utilization.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
