Hitachi Energy is looking for an Automation Systems Engineer to join its Transformer Services US engineering division. This position is integral to the engineering team, contributing to the development and enhancement of transformer control systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop innovative transformer control systems to modernize existing setups.
  • Create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout designs for client validation and production processes.
  • Expertise in selecting appropriate transformer components and accessories.
  • Oversee transformer controls testing and evaluate outcomes.
  • Ensure quality assurance for vendor-manufactured control systems by conducting thorough inspections.
  • Investigate and assess new products and market trends for incorporation into designs.
  • Offer technical assistance to field teams.
  • Draft transformer control specifications to support the proposal team.
  • Embrace core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for actions while supporting colleagues and the organization.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of five years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and over ten years of transformer-related experience.
  • Proficiency in CREO or AutoCAD for drafting purposes.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as IEEE, IEC, and NEMA.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Must possess work authorization to be employed by Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% as required.
