Iron Mountain is looking for an Armed Security Specialist to join our Security Team. Our facilities safeguard essential records and protect critical assets for both governmental entities and private organizations. It is imperative for Iron Mountain to implement appropriate measures to secure these records and customer assets from any malicious acts, including destruction, compromise, or theft. Additionally, we must provide a secure environment for all facility customers. Any safety or security concerns that are not promptly and effectively addressed can adversely affect both Iron Mountain and our clients' operations. This Armed Security Specialist role is vital to our ability to uphold our safety, security, and risk management standards.
Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Panama/2-2-3 Schedule)
Pay: $18.00 per hour (15% rate increase for Overnight ($20.70))

The Armed Security Specialist is responsible for providing specific guidance and training to others regarding compliance with the facility's rules and regulations, particularly concerning the daily operations of the Security Operation Center.
- Control and monitor the daily entry and exit of individuals and vehicles into and out of the facility, addressing any safety and security concerns. Prevent unauthorized individuals and/or vehicles from accessing the premises.
- Conduct vehicle and personal property inspections and operate x-ray equipment and magnetometers to identify and restrict the entry of prohibited items according to established policies.
- Engage in daily face-to-face interactions with a diverse range of individuals, from entry-level employees to corporate executives and occasionally high-ranking government officials.
- Monitor security and fire alarm systems as well as designated CCTV-covered assets, responding to alarms and/or potential security breaches according to established procedures.
- Conduct routine visual inspections of key assets and locations within the facility through scheduled roving patrols, both inside and outside the perimeter.
- Assist tenants and visitors with safety and security issues and concerns, as well as provide directions and general guidance regarding facility locations.
- Obtain and regularly update training related to the proper operation of the Security Operation Center.
- Document any significant security and safety incidents and complete shift change reports in accordance with established procedures.
- Make quick situational assessments and decisions regarding the need to employ force and the level of force necessary, implemented according to established policies and procedures.
- Oversee daily operations at the Security Operations Center, ensuring all daily tasks are completed. Provide Officers with guidance and feedback as needed.

- Assist in training new Officers and with ongoing training of all Officers.
- Provide Security management with updates on existing procedures and possible enhancements or modifications needed to ensure the effectiveness of the standard operating procedures.
- Perform all duties of the Visitor Center personnel (badging, adding/removing access, ServiceNow platform, etc.).
- Communicate with the Coordinator on the assignment of projects/tasks and maintain a working time frame for completion.
- Ability to provide specific direction to others regarding compliance with the facility's rules and regulations, particularly concerning entry and exit procedures.
- Ability to take charge and provide clear direction to all visitors and client employees in the event of a safety or security-related situation (i.e., fire or emergency evacuation).
- The ability to quickly and effectively assess and resolve situations that may pose a threat to the safety or security of anyone within the facility is paramount.
- The demeanor, appearance, and professional attitude displayed by the Security Officer will significantly impact customers' initial impressions of Iron Mountain. Strict adherence to security and safety policies will help establish and maintain a safe and secure working environment for customers and their employees, reinforcing Iron Mountain's commitment to security and total customer satisfaction.
- The Security Officer position requires an average to above-average level of physical fitness.
- Confidence in the ability to carry a weapon for an entire shift, train in the use of various weapons, and possess the physical strength to retain a weapon in the event of a physical altercation.
- Physical and mental capability to engage in a physical altercation if necessary to prevent an assault, disrupt a fight, handle a disruptive or combative employee, or prevent unauthorized entry. The position requires considerable time spent standing and moving from position to position.
- Valid State Driver's License.
- Current Pennsylvania Act 235 certification.
- Education/Experience: High school education preferred / 2 to 4 years preferred.
