- Implement and administer accident prevention plans, policies, and procedures for the branch and clients.
- Ensure timely submission of safety reports, statistics, and documentation.
- Provide technical safety expertise, safety training, and support to branch management and field craft employees.
- Promote and enforce safety procedures and safe work practices.
- Investigate work-related injuries, illnesses, and near-miss incidents.
- Enforce corrective action to prevent hazardous conditions or behaviors.
- Practice timely and accurate accident reporting.
- Review accidents and investigation reports.
- Act as liaison between the company and client for site safety management.
- Identify, correct, and mitigate routine and non-routine safety and health hazards.
- Counsel and coach workers to gain compliance with accident prevention plans, policies, and procedures.
- Provide safety resources for workers.
- Identify, anticipate, and evaluate potential safety health hazards.
- Conduct job site inspections and periodic audits to establish and evaluate compliance.
- Establish branch and project safety goals.
- Evaluate and approve safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Be familiar with current OSHA construction standards.
- Assist in completing customer required pre-qualification and pre-mobilization safety documentation for all projects.
- Complete internal site safety inspection audits to identify safety compliance on projects and identify trends.
- Conduct New Hire Orientations.
- Minimum of 5 years' previous professional experience in a safety role.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Science/Management, or related discipline, or comparable work experience in construction safety.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Ability to effectively conduct safety training.
- Track record of successfully managing multiple subordinates.
- Ability to pursue professional development and complete training that will benefit you and the organization.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught.
- Customer service skills and ability to build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and employees at all levels.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize, work on multiple tasks concurrently, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Intermediate skills navigating Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc.
