Software Developer for Environmental Science Applications

Job Summary
University Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a skilled Applications Developer to join our team in the Office of Water Programs. As a key member of our development team, you will collaborate with researchers and engineers to design and implement software solutions for environmental science applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Full-Stack web applications using modern technologies such as , TypeScript, Flask, SQL Alchemy, and Tailwind CSS.
- Design and administer advanced SQL Server databases using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
- Maintain and troubleshoot existing Full-Stack PHP, , and ASP applications and SQL Server databases.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to identify software needs and develop solutions.
- Supervise undergraduate students and undertake additional programming projects as directed.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in web application development, including proficiency with , TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and CSS.
- Proficiency with Flask, SQL Alchemy, and Python.
- Proficiency with relational database administration (SQL Server preferred).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, interpersonal skills, and skills to effectively function as part of a team.
- Ability to work well as part of a small development team.
- Demonstrated experience working with and maintaining sensitive, confidential information.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and see projects through to completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with research environmental scientists.
- Experience working in state grant funded web application development projects.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office environment; continuous contact with staff, campus community, the public, and government agencies.
