Key Responsibilities:- Leadership and Oversight: Direct and coordinate the nursing and patient care delivery of the unit-based professional and support personnel, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration across departments.
- Quality and Safety: Ensure the provision of holistic, culturally competent, and person-centered, quality, safe, and cost-effective evidence-based nursing care for patients and families, adhering to MedStar Health's standards and best practices.
- Collaboration and Partnerships: Foster effective relationships and partnerships across disciplines and departments to ensure efficient and quality patient care services, contributing to hospital/entity capacity management efforts.
- Performance Management: Develop and maintain standards of performance for associates, evaluate performance, and conduct performance management planning, setting clear expectations for performance and holding associates accountable.
- Professional Development: Participate in hospital/entity committees, task forces, interdisciplinary forums, and projects as requested by the Director of Nursing, contributing to the growth and development of nursing professionals within the organization.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited program required; Master's degree in Nursing or a health-related field from a nationally accredited program preferred.
- Experience: 3-4 years progressive nursing care experience required; leadership and management experience preferred.
- Certifications: CPR certification for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 90 days required; additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.
