Job Title: Server

At Genna Benna's, we're seeking a skilled and friendly Server to join our team. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences for our guests, ensuring their needs are met, and creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare tables, set up silverware, and ensure condiments are refilled.
  • Stay up-to-date on current menu choices, specialties, and menu deviations.
  • Present menus, suggest dishes, and assist with drink selection.
  • Communicate with guests about food preparation details and special requests.
  • Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including removing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses.
  • Learn guests' names, occupations, and favorite drinks to provide personalized service.
  • Properly open and pour wine at the tableside.
  • Process payments, issue receipts, and handle cash and credit transactions.
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed and directed by a supervisor.
  • Assist with special events and fill in for absent staff as needed.
  • Greet guests warmly and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous serving experience is strongly preferred.
  • Outgoing personality, positive attitude, and strong oral communication skills are essential.
  • Positive interpersonal skills and knowledge of restaurant operations are required.
  • Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English.
Working Conditions:
  • May work in an indoor or outdoor setting, depending on the outlet.
  • Varied weather conditions are expected.
  • Will work near moving or mechanical parts.
  • May work near toxic/caustic chemicals and with fumes or airborne particles.
  • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.
Appearance/Uniform Standard:
  • Black long sleeve button-down shirt with a solid bright-colored tie, black belt, black non-denim pants/slacks, server apron, black crew socks, and closed-toed black slip-resistant shoes.
  • Any undershirt must be short-sleeved and white.
  • No facial piercings.
  • Men must keep facial hair well groomed.
  • All hair long enough to touch the shoulder must be pulled back and restrained.
