Position Overview

As an Advanced Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive engineering support to Enabled Source Operations (ESO). Your primary responsibility will be to enhance a metrics system that consolidates data from various agency production systems and ESO-controlled NIFIs. This innovative metrics system will serve as a centralized tool for engineers, analysts, and managers, facilitating daily operations through diverse views tailored to different user needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the ESO Mission Support's Data Services Team in updating and optimizing the existing metrics system or designing a robust process to generate and visualize new ESO dataflow metrics utilizing tools such as Elastic Search, Kibana, or similar platforms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and document information and capability requirements, ensuring alignment with solution providers and other enabling organizations.
  • Represent ESO interests as dataflow metric tools evolve, assisting Collection Managers and Technical Leads in addressing metric-related actions, understanding data feed prioritization, and contributing to the analysis of results.
  • Engage with subject matter experts to develop a comprehensive understanding of current business objectives, data, and analytic workflows within the ESO mission area, facilitating the introduction of advanced analytic methods.
  • Work closely with ESO analysts and developers to grasp current analytic needs and establish a solid understanding of common procedures and methodologies.
  • Design and document discovery and analytic services for the ESO organization, aiding in the transition to customer-facing prototypes and production.
  • Document and enhance user awareness of advanced analytic logic, ensuring clarity and evaluation of results.
  • Create solutions for extracting metrics from agency production systems using REST APIs, Jupyter Notebook, or other methodologies.
  • Provide regular status reports detailing progress on key tasks and milestones.
  • Document and share processes and outcomes with relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the following technical areas:
    • Network Analysis
    • Network Intelligence Analysis
    • SIGINT Research and Target Development
    • Big Data Analytics
  • Identify and document technology-related methods suitable for client challenges.
  • Assist in presenting methods and results to leadership and other analysts as necessary.
  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to government and military analysts.
  • Produce methodologies outlining the analytic processes used to evaluate the signals environment of assigned access.

Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI clearance with appropriate polygraph.
  • For SE2: A minimum of fourteen (14) years of experience in systems engineering within similar programs and contracts is required, along with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • For SE3: A minimum of twenty (20) years of experience in systems engineering within similar programs and contracts is required, along with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
