Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement engineering principles and methodologies in highway and roadway engineering tasks.
  • Utilize advanced techniques and adapt existing theories to develop innovative designs.
  • Engage in complex projects that require the formulation of new or enhanced techniques and procedures.
  • Support the training and development of design personnel, serving as a resource for design inquiries.
  • Contribute to the interpretation, revision, and creation of Standards of Practice.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on drawings produced by drafters, designers, and engineers.
  • Act as a liaison for clients, collaborating with other design professionals and contractors.
  • May take on the role of quality coordinator for projects led by the discipline.
  • Participate in professional association committees to establish policies, standards, and research initiatives at various levels.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Highway/Roadway Design is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, Geopak/InRoads, and current OpenRoads design software; experience with Civil 3D is advantageous.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred; Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
  • Capability to produce drawings from sketches.
  • Ensure designs comply with company and client production and design standards.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Desire to learn and adopt new technologies.
