About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at RSG Forest Products. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of diesel-powered equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related equipment to prevent downtime and ensure efficient operation.
  • Diagnostic and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with fork trucks, loaders, and other machinery to identify and resolve problems quickly.
  • Inspections and Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely, and maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the operations team to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime, and communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure seamless operations.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards, and promote a safety-first culture within the team.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems, with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Certification and Training: Certification as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent training is preferred.
