Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a physician, the Certified Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering healthcare services to patients.

Responsibilities include a diverse range of patient care tasks such as maintaining clinical documentation, administering medications, providing injections, and monitoring vital signs.



Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain vital signs, chief complaints, allergies, and medication lists.

- Demonstrate knowledge of organizational policies and procedures to provide effective patient care.

- Accurately document patient information in compliance with regulations.

- Observe and report any changes in patient conditions to the healthcare provider.

- Collect medical histories and record vital signs.



- Administer routine medications (oral, rectal, or injectable).

- Understand the principles of safe medication administration and the importance of preventing errors.

- Prepare and administer medications as directed by the physician.



- Conduct routine patient testing, including electrocardiograms and specimen collection.

- Ensure proper procedures are followed for processing blood and urine samples.



- Assist with medical procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment is available and functional.

- Clean and prepare rooms post-procedure and manage supply inventory.

- Prepare patients for tests and procedures, including dressing changes and suture removal.



- Perform clerical duties related to patient care in an outpatient setting.

- Utilize patient scheduling systems and manage data entry in practice management software.

- Interpret and input patient orders accurately.



- Maintain effective relationships with patients and medical staff.

- Exhibit the ability to observe patient conditions and communicate any concerns to the healthcare provider.
