About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Staff to join our team at Vera French Community Mental Health Center. As a Direct Support Staff, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients with daily living skills, promoting physical and emotional health, and providing protective oversight and supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide interventions to teach or maintain client skills, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Document services and communicate regularly with others to ensure continuity of care.
  • Work with clients on various goals, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Transport clients to appointments, jobs, and other activities.
  • Assist with daily activities, ensuring safety and fostering a supportive environment.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Every other weekend availability is necessary.
  • A valid driver's license with a driving record that allows insurability is required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical with a drug and alcohol screen.
  • Previous experience working with the chronically mentally ill population is preferred.

Shift Times

  • Three shifts, with float positions available: 1st shift (7a-3p), 2nd shift (3p-11p) with a generous $3 differential, and 3rd shift (11p-7a) with a generous $2 differential.
  • $2 weekend incentive for working weekend shifts.
