This specialized unit is renowned for its innovative care for spinal patients, featuring a 36-bed capacity with 14 telemetry monitoring beds.

Job Summary

This position is for a Master's prepared advanced generalist who leads professional nursing practices and manages care within an adult inpatient setting. The Clinical Nurse Leader is responsible for overseeing the needs of patients and their families, ensuring evidence-based care is delivered, monitoring health outcomes, and applying best practice nursing strategies.

Essential Functions
  • Conducts comprehensive assessments and develops individualized care plans.
  • Manages a caseload of patients within their designated microsystem.
  • Oversees patient care management and addresses complex care challenges.
  • Documents findings and progress in patient records accurately.
  • Facilitates orientation for new care providers and shares relevant patient information.
  • Reviews patient information, including lab results and progress notes, on a daily basis.
  • Collaborates with care providers and families to establish patient-centered goals.
  • Educates patients and families on illness management and self-care practices.
  • Utilizes technology to access evidence-based practices and current research.
  • Employs tools to evaluate and communicate patient progress effectively.
  • Analyzes nurse-sensitive outcomes and incident reports to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Works with team members and physicians to develop performance improvement indicators.
  • Delegates, supervises, and evaluates nursing care while maintaining accountability for care quality.
Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to walk, stand, sit, lift, reach, stoop, bend, push, and pull in a fast-paced clinical environment. Candidates must be capable of lifting and supporting up to 35 pounds and possess fluency in English, along with intact sensory functions. Critical thinking and quick response to changes in patient conditions are essential.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

A Master's Degree in Nursing with a focus on the CNL track is required, along with a current RN license in North Carolina. CNL certification must be maintained in accordance with the Commission on Nurse Certification requirements. BLS certification is also mandatory.

Additional qualifications may be necessary based on departmental needs.
