Position Overview
The Bakery Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Team Leader with the daily management of bakery operations, focusing on profitability, cost management, procurement, product presentation, workforce management, compliance with regulations, and various assigned projects. This position is essential in nurturing and guiding Team Members to ensure a cohesive and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs and sustains an innovative store layout and effective product display.
- Collaborates with the Team Leader to meet sales, purchasing, and labor objectives.
- Assists in evaluating sales performance, reports, and labor metrics.
- Exhibits extensive product knowledge and stays informed about new offerings.
- Maintains strong relationships with vendors, fosters new partnerships, and ensures all necessary documentation is submitted for vendor processing.
- Works alongside the Team Leader to address team concerns and resolve issues.
- Acts as the primary contact and departmental leader in the absence of the Team Leader.
- Establishes and upholds the highest standards of retail execution.
- Encourages a positive atmosphere of teamwork, respect, and high morale.
- Monitors customer traffic and needs, directing Team Members to enhance customer satisfaction; responds promptly to inquiries and requests.
- Recruits, trains, develops, mentors, motivates, and evaluates Team Members to maintain a high-performance team and reduce turnover.
- Conducts timely and comprehensive performance assessments.
- Consistently communicates and exemplifies the company's vision and objectives.

Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 18 months of experience as a retail Team Member, with at least 6 months in a supervisory role.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- In an 8-hour workday: standing or walking for 6-8 hours.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Job requires bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning agents.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, including up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Capability to work in both wet and dry environments.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other machinery.
- May require the use of ladders.
