">We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Dietitian to join our team at Mount Sinai Brooklyn. This is a full-time day shift position that requires a strong passion for delivering high-quality nutrition care to our patients.
">Job Description:
">The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the nutritional status of patients and recommending appropriate nutrition therapy. You will also provide nutrition counseling to patients and family members as indicated, and participate in interdisciplinary rounds to ensure seamless communication among healthcare teams.
">Responsibilities:

- Evaluate the nutritional status of patients by reviewing pertinent information obtained from the electronic medical record and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.">
- Apply knowledge of nutrition screening and assessment to specific patient populations to determine their nutritional needs.">
- Conduct nutrition-focused physical exams and maintain working knowledge of malnutrition diagnostic criteria and treatment.">
- Document pertinent findings in the medical record as per policy.">
- Provide quality nutrition counseling to patients and family members as indicated.">
- Evaluate nutrition care plans for effectiveness and recommend changes as needed.">
- Use professional judgment to adapt and apply guidelines, protocols, and professional standards of care to the new and changing needs of the patient.">
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds as needed.">
- Communicate effectively with members of the healthcare team.">
- Assist with discharge planning as needed.">
- Precept dietetic interns and instruct them on the competencies required to complete their assigned rotation.">
- Provide feedback for incorporation into student evaluations.">
- Participate in projects within the department, including providing education via nutrition-related in-services, interdepartmental nutrition programs, lectures, and community-focused programs.">
Qualifications:
">To be considered for this exciting opportunity, applicants must hold a degree in nutrition or a related field and be registered as a dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). A New York State CDN registration is preferred but not required.
">Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 annually based on experience.
