Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Tufts Medicine. As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide professional and non-professional nursing care services to patients, working under the direction of physicians, mid-level practitioners, and registered nurses. This role requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and requiring vocational or technical education.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with examinations, procedures, tests, and treatments, including using glucometers, Hoyer lifts, and obtaining vital signs.
  • Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) in a manner that maintains patient privacy and safety.
  • Prepare patients for meals, assist with meals or feed patients as necessary, and respond to call lights in a timely manner.
  • Provide complete hygienic care to patients, including distributing linens, making beds, changing linens, changing briefs, bedpans, urinals, and catheters.
  • Apply principles of prevention to maintain skin integrity and skeletal muscular alignment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • One (1) year experience in healthcare or nursing services.
