Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Assistant Specialist to join our team at Houston Methodist. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support services to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized patient care and support services, including assistance with daily living activities, hygiene, and comfort.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
  • Participate in patient education and training, promoting patient-centered care and empowerment.
  • Conduct hourly rounding to ensure patient needs are met and report near misses to improve patient safety.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Three years of acute care hospital or post-acute care experience or two years of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)/Paramedic experience or Graduate Nurse (GN) who will be retaking the NCLEX for RN licensure.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) certification.
  • CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant - State Licensure (for Skilled Nursing Facility/SNF/Rehab departments only).
