Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certification Specialist to join our team at FPI Management, Inc. This role will be responsible for assisting with certifications, audit preparation, and compliance duties for our affordable housing properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with property program compliance requirements, including timely annual certification process and agency reports.
  • Conduct applicant/resident certification interviews, gather eligibility documents, and complete and submit files to third-party auditors.
  • Process certification files in a timely manner.
  • Maintain positive and professional communication with onsite staff, Portfolio Managers, and Compliance team members.
  • Update internal tracking systems and respond to Community Director, Portfolio Manager, Compliance Specialist, and Compliance Director in a timely manner.
  • Assist with initial qualifying process of new construction lease-up properties, Re-syndications, and/or acquisition/rehab of existing properties.
  • Travel may be required.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with affordable housing programs and layering, and regulatory compliance in programs such as LIHTC, HUD, USDA-Rural Development, HCD, HOME Funds, and Bonds.
  • High School diploma or equivalency certificate required; college degree in a relatable field preferred.
  • Affordable Housing/Tax Credit certification preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License, good driving record, current motor vehicle insurance, and operable vehicle that meets FPI's Driving Standards and Personal Vehicle Use policy.
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office, Google Apps, property management-related software, email, and internet.
