Key Responsibilities- Compounding and Dispensing: Compound and dispense prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for patient care.
- Patient Profile Management: Maintain and review patient profiles to ensure appropriateness of drug therapy, allergies, interactions, and side effects.
- Adverse Reaction Investigation: Investigate reports of adverse drug reactions and prepare required reports.
- Medication Information: Advise staff, physicians, and customers, as needed, with information regarding the appropriate use of medications.
- Team Leadership: Oversee the work of pharmacy technicians.
- Inventory Management: Ensure that inventory levels are adequately maintained and drugs have not expired.
- Training and Education: Assist with in-service education for hospital staff and pharmacy-related training.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited pharmacy degree program (Bachelor of Science or Pharm. D).
- Experience: None required.
- Licensure: Licensed as a Doctor of Pharmacy (D.Ph.) by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy. Certificate as a preceptor by the Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy when eligible.
- Knowledge of Pharmacology: Knowledge of the principles and procedures associated with pharmacology.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills along with the ability to translate technical information into terms the general public can understand.
- Computer Skills: Computer skills.
